Originally South Wales, currently Marykirk in Aberdeenshire.
What is your previous education?
I have two HNDs – Hospitality Management from Robert Gordon University and Health & Social Care from The Open University.
Why did you decide to study an MSc in Digital Marketing?
Having been self-employed for 7 years running a successful baby signing franchise called TinyTalk Angus and The Mearns. I have always thoroughly enjoyed marketing my business but without education in this area, it has been very much trial and error. I am already really enjoying improving my knowledge and being able to apply it immediately for the benefit of my business.
What do you like best about the course so far?
I really appreciate that is it ‘flipped learning’. Flipped learning means that we do all our pre class tasks class to learn about that week’s topic then our lecture time is spent reinforcing our understanding through group work and tasks. Being a mature student with a business to run and three young children the learning needed to be really flexible for me to fit around my many distractions!
What’s your favourite app or website, and why?
Pages Manager is an absolutely vital app for my business. I have two assistant teachers so being able to schedule and draft posts that we can all contribute to is fantastic. Also being able to respond quickly to messages and engagements has definitely played a part in increasing my customer base.
Tell us a random fact about yourself!
I absolutely love public speaking and delivering training which are both things I do in my senior management role for the parent company of my franchise.
